Welcome to the very first edition of Covered – the official newsletter of DBNZ Coatings. Many of you may not know who DBNZ Coatings are? DBNZ are the exclusive importers of many of the familiar products that you use including DeBeer, VIM, Spralac, Valspar Refinish, OECE, DNA Custom Paints and Trident Airbrush Paints. We not only import these brands, but we provide product training, technical and colour support and a number of other associated services. Many of you will be familiar with our field staff, and of course you buy these products through our fantastic distributor network that includes WPC Auckland & Whangarei, Linkup Paints Auckland, Hamilton, BOP & Wellington, Complete Paints Napier & Palmerston North, and Hardy’s New Plymouth.

Olympic success – it’s in our DNA
The New Zealand Speed Kings at the Tokyo Olympics’ Ellesse Andrews and Campbell Stewart win Silver medals in an outstanding double achievement in the women’s Keirin and men’s Omnium. Custom Paint in Aerosol
Complementing the range of DNA custom finishes for the Refinish Professional is an ever- growing range of the DNA now available in aerosols, designed for both the Professional and DIY enthusiast.
- 1K Epoxy Etch Primer: because any quality job starts with a great primer and DNA have that covered with a modified epoxy primer, available in grey and black.
- Solid Black BaZecoat: to go under your Candy BaZecoat colours.
- Solid Pure White: to go under your Candy BaZecoats and Fluorescent colour.
- Silver Flare BaZecoat: a coarse looking metallic which lays down flat and smooth, a perfect base for your candy dyes.
- Metal Flake: 50 micron flake, available in silver or gold.
- Colour Shift: want the colour of your project to change colours as you view it from different angles? then DNA Colourshift is what you want, available in a range of colours
- Candy Dyes: true candy dyes for the ultimate in depth and that classic hot-rod vibrance.

2021 DBNZ Training School Calendar
DBNZ proudly offer specialised refinish industry training for those involved in the automotive painting industry, we run these courses throughout the year at our training facility in Hamilton. All our standard DeBeer and Valspar courses are ICAR approved.

COLOUR Department
At DBNZ we have a colour laboratory that can cater for standard colour matching queries for the OECE, VIM and DeBeer brands. In order to provide the best possible service we work alongside Australia, Holland and Italy depending on the type of request and colour required by the customer.
*In order to do this, customers need to fill out a Colour request form, and send it with a spray out card of the required colour to be formulated.
Turnaround time will always depend on the complexity of the colour and the existing queue.

ACI Epoxy Primer
Since its launch in late 2019, AIC AIP302 2.1 VOC High Solids Epoxy Primer has proven a popular epoxy primer for the light industrial and commercial vehicle markets.
AIP302 is a high solids, direct-to-metal epoxy primer which offers excellent performance properties and a versatile application, with multiple thinning ratios, as well as an accelerator additive option.

New Zealand’s a Winner!
Valspar Automotive’s major competition this year gave one lucky winner the opportunity to win the Ultimate Adventure Pack, with your choice of camping or fishing prize pack valued at over $5000!
